Hockey Day in Vegreville!

On Thursday, February 15th, 66 ALH students will play in the ‘Hockey Day in Vegreville’ event.

40 brave and amazing hockey players are challenging the Guinness World Record and playing The World’s Longest Hockey Game. This 10-day hockey game is raising money for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

About a month ago the school was sent an email from The World’s Longest Outdoor Hockey Game organization asking if there was any way we would be interested in helping them reach their goal by raising money for pediatric cancer research. This is how our ‘Hockey Day in Vegreville’ came about.

This event will start out by the school coming together in the gymnasium at 8:40 for the singing of O Canada and the introduction of the 66 participants who raised pledges. Parents and guests are welcome to come out and support their child throughout the day. A donation box will be at the event for anyone wishing to make a donation.

A small concession will be open during the day selling the following items:
* candy bags - $ 1.00
* chips - $ 2.00
* small gatorade - $ 2.00
* Hot rods - $ 1.00
All proceeds will go towards the event fundraiser.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact the school.

Thank you in advance for your support.
